Associate Professor

I joined National Institute of Informatics (NII) as an assistant professor 11/2009, promoted to associate professor 04/2012. I also serve as adjunct associate professor in the department of electronic and computer engineering in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) since 01/2015. I obtained my PhD degree from the EECS department in University of California Berkeley in 2000, and was a senior researcher in Hewlett-Packard Laboratories Japan from 08/2000 till 10/2009.

I currently serve as associate editor for  IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (TIP), IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT), EURASIP Signal Processing: Image Communication, and  APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing.
