Dear all,

Thanks for your participation and interest for NTCIR.
We will have a round-table meeting as follows;

Date/Time: Tuesday, February 21. 13:30-16:00
Place: NII (room number shall be announced later)

The below is the agenda we have listed so far.
- Plan for NTCIR-6 and longer
- NTCIR-6 Tasks and subtasks
- NTCIR Organization
- others

So far CLIR, CLQA, Opinion, QA, Patent Retrieval tasks are
proposed for NTCIR-6. Web is under consideration to propose
or change into other form. If anyone who would like to propose
a task, pilot task, or subtask in a task, please send a proposal
to program chair (Noriko Kando) in your earliest opportunity
if it has not been done before.

The tasks will be decided in March and Registration for NTCIR-6
tasks will be started from April 2006.

We are very sorry for the short notice for the meeting, but
I'm grateful if you can come and join the discussion! If you
have interest but could not join the meeting, please join
the discussion through e-mail or Skype!. If you will send any
notes, comments, or proposal, we will include them in the
discussion at the meeting.

Not only a proposal for the task, any idea to make the NTCIR
more interesting are always welcome. If you have any agenda
other than the above, please point out. Discussion about
metrics and test collections are also welcome. You are
the member of NTCIR community, so any type of contribution
for the community is appreciative.

Please give a notice to ntc-secretariat (at) nii.ac.jp by Febary 17
if you can attend the meeting. This is for a better preparation
for the meeting, but attendance without notice is also welcome.

下記のようにNTCIRラウンドテーブルミーティングを開催します。

場所：　国立情報学研究所　（部屋番号はのちほどお知らせします）
議題案：
・NTCIR−６の計画、NTCIRの今後の進め方
・NTCIR-6のタスク
・NTCIRプロジェクトの運営
・その他

現在、 NTCIR-6のタスクやパイロットタスクとして、CLIR, CLQA,
Opinion, QA, 特許検索タスクが提案されてています。WEBは提案
するかどうかを検討中です。もし、タスク、パイロットタスク、タスク
の中のサブタスクの提案等の希望があり、まだ提案書をお送り
くださっていない方がいらっしゃいましたら、プログラムチェア(神
門)までお知らせください。

直前のお知らせになってしまいましたが、ぜひ、議論に参加して
ください！　会場にいらっしゃれない場合は、メイル等で議論に
参加してください。事前にメイル等でお寄せいただいたコメント、
提案、ご意見等は、当日の議論に反映させます。

タスクの提案だけではなく、NTCIRをよりよくするため、お気づき
の点などお知らせいただければ幸いです。評価指標、テスト
コレクションなどについての議論、今後のNTCIRのあり方など。
NTCIRは皆さまの参加でなりたっている「コミュニティ」です。
ひとりひとりみんなの力を合わせてよりよいものになれば、と
思います。

当日参加も可能ですが、会場、資料の準備の都合上、できれば
出席くださる方は、2月17日（金）までに、ntc-secretariat (at) nii.ac.jp
にご連絡いただければ幸いです。
