Q:  Is it necessary to purchase a license for the data to participate
    in the NTCIR-6 evaluation?

A: No, it is not necessary to purchase anything to participate in
   NTCIR-6.  All of the documents that are used in the tasks in NTCIR-6
   are provided by NII to participants free of charge.  To receive the
   data, you only have to submit signed user agreement forms.  The
   documents included in the data set can be used for research purposes
   related to NTCIR under the conditions specified in the user agreement
   forms.

  This was done by the understandings and support from the data
  providers listed in the user agreement forms for the participants.
  We thank for their continuous understanding and support.

  The providers of the document data kindly understand the importance of
  the test collection in the research on information access technologies
  and then granted the use of the data for research done through the
  tasks set by NTCIR Workshop.

  Please remember that the document data in the NTCIR test collections
  is copyrighted and has commercial value as data. It is important for
  our continued reliable and good relationship with the data
  producers/providers that we researchers must behave as a reliable
  partners and use the data only for research purpose under the user
  agreement and use them carefully not to violate any rights for them.

Q: NTCIR-6のタスクに参加するのには、いくらかかりますか？　文書データ
　などは、参加者が個別に購入する必要がありますか？

A:　NTCIR-6のタスクで使用する文書データ等は、NTCIR-6のタスク参加団体に
    は、データ使用のための覚書を取り交わした後、NIIから、無償でNTCIR-6の
　　タスク遂行のための使用を許諾し、提供しています。参加者が個別に購入　
　　する必要はありません。

   このような文書の使用を許諾してくださった文書提供機関のご理解とご支援

   テストコレクションに含まれる文書データは、作成機関等からNTCIRで使
   用するために提供されたものです。いずれも、著作権があり、商品としての
   価値もあるものですが、情報アクセス研究におけるテストコレクションの重
   要性に鑑み、とくに、NTCIRワークショップにおける研究目的での使用を許諾
　 していただきました。

   我々研究者は、今後も継続して文書データが研究に使用できるように、文書
   データ作成・提供機関からの信頼に応え、良好な関係を保つことが求められ
   ます。覚書、利用申請書、利用規定等をよく理解し、文書データ作成・提供
