CALL FOR ADDITIONAL PILOT TASK PROPOSALS for NTCIR-10

NTCIR-10: http://research.nii.ac.jp/ntcir/ntcir-10/index.html

NTCIR is a sesquiannual series of conferences that evaluate various
information access tasks. The tenth conference, NTCIR-10, is
currently running six main tasks (CrossLink, INTENT, 1CLICK, PatentMT,
RITE, SpokenDoc) and one pilot task (MATH), which were selected by the
NTCIR Programme Committee.

Over 100 research institutions have registered to participate in one
or more of the tasks. The NTCIR-10 conference will be held June 18-21
at NII, Tokyo, Japan.

While the regular tasks run on an 18-month cycle, this year we are experimenting with an additional call for a limited number of additional pilot tasks for NTCIR-10, to provide an opportunity to responsively explore emerging topics. NTCIR is not able to provide financial support to these additional pilot tasks, but can help to attract participants, provide suggestions for the task design and help organise the final presentations at the NTCIR-10 conference. We expect the organisers and the participants of accepted pilot tasks to contribute papers to the NTCIR-10 online proceedings, although it is possible that their papers may not be included in the NTCIR-10 CD-ROM/USB that will be distribute at the conference due to the tight schedule. It is hoped that the accepted pilot tasks will leverage their experience at NTCIR-10 to design and propose a full regular task for NTCIR-11.
