Call for Oral Presentation

Dear NTCIR-5 Workshop Task Particpants,

It is time to think about analyzing and presenting the results of the work that did for this NTCIR's task.

The NTCIR-5 workshop meeting will be held in Tokyo,on Tuesday through Friday, December 6-9, 2005.

Each participant who submitted system results to NTCIR-5 was invited to submit a paper that will be included in the workshop Proceedings and archived on the NTCIR web site. The submission deadline was October 15 (except several CLIR participants who used English documents).

All submitted papers by NTCIR-5 participants will be accepted for publication in the NTCIR-5 Proceedings and on the NTCIR-5 web site.

However, only a limited number of participants will actually be able to give an oral presentation of their paper at the workshop meeting.
Presentations will probably be 20-25 minutes (15-20 minutes talk, + 5 minutes questions), depending on the number of presentation proposals
that we accept.

If you would like to present your paper, please send a proposal for presentation to
ntc-chair by *October 31, 2005* (JST).
The proposal should *NOT* be mainly a summary of what you did. Instead it should emphasize why the experiments you ran are interesting or unusual and why the results would be of interest to the workshop meeting.

The proposal should be of at most 500 words, in plain ASCII text in body text of the email.
Use the subject: "NTCIR ORAL PRESENTATION" and
the Task name (CLIR, CLQA, PATENT, QAC, or WEB).

SCHEDULE (IMPORTATN DATES):
