The Speech Resources Consortium investigates the present speech resources,catalogues them, and shows them on its homepage in order to promote research and development of speech information processing. It also requests research institutions to offer their present speech resources to SRC. Based on these activities, it urges distribution, promotion, and publicity of speech resources. The consortium conducts additional production and distribution of the speech resources that are frequently requested. It also conducts investigation and research on speech resources. The Speech Resources Consortium offers information on the contents, whereabouts, and way of utilizing speech corpora necessary for promoting research and development of speech information processing; it mediates between the producers and the users of speech corpora. Users will be able to obtain the speech resources or data they need and use them through simple procedures by using SRC.
