Summary

I aim to develop numerical tools for visually impressive physics simulations. More specifically, I have focused on developing numerical algorithms of highly detailed fluids in the field of computer graphics for the past six years. My strong passion for aesthetics drives me to work on computer graphics. I earned my Ph.D. in Design from the Design department at Kyushu University under the supervision of Reiji Tsuruno. Thereafter, I joined IST Austria as a post-doctoral researcher supported by the JSPS fellowship under the mentorship of Chris Wojtan and the collaboration with Nils Thuerey to develop new algorithms for fluid simulations. Currently, I am an assistant professor at National Institute of Informatics, Tokyo. To summarize, I keep looking for new ways to express the beauty of physics phenomena through the use of numerical simulation.

Codes

3D FLIP-based Liquid Solver
FLIP-based liquid solver introduced by Ando and Tsuruno in SCA 2011.
There's no dependencies: only standard C functions like fprintf() are used.

2D Levelset Liquid Solver
An interactive 2D liquid animation solver in which you can stir liquid with many
configurations, such as different accuracy of the boundary condition, linear and
catmul-rom interpolation methods and the presence of a volume conservation.

3D Smoke Rising
A very small 3D smoke animation solver written in C/C++ that uses the semi-Lagrangian
advection and the multigrid pressure solver. There's no dependencies: only standard
C functions like fprintf() are called to output images.

2D Interactive Smoke Animation
A simple interactive 2D smoke animation solver that has many different advection
schemes and pressure solvers. You can combine these techniques to understand its
behavior.

Poisson Image Editing for MATLAB
MATLAB implementation of poisson image synthesis. Whole code fits within 39 lines !
