31/Jul - 2/Aug: 普段月一でゼミをしているメンバーで、軽井沢で合宿をしてきました。
30/Jul: 東京大学の駒場キャンパスで開かれている、組合せと数学のセミナーで発表してきました。
25/Jul: Attended 東京工業大学で開かれた、情報処理学会情報処理学会アルゴリズム研究会に行ってきました。招待講演で、恩師の小島政和先生が発表。こころなしか観客も多かった気がします。
17,18/Jul: Attended a symposium "Mathematics and algorithms on optimization" held at Kyoto University. Unfortunately, I returned to Tokyo at the second day because of a task at Tokyo.
16/Jul: Gave a talk at a seminar of mathematical programming and algorithms, held at Kyoto University. The contents of the talk was the same as that of the talk which I gave at Tohoku University in March, that is, efficient improving method for enumeration algorithms, which reduces delay and change of algorithms.
8-12/Jul: Attended IFORS2002 held at Edinburgh, Scottland. There were many kinds of talks given by people from many countries. I did not focus on a topic, but attended many sessions about different topics. Several talks on scheduling problems, integer programming, and pricing are interesting.
3,4,5/Jul: Attended SWAT2002 held at Turku, Finland. There were very interesting and impressive talks, from the veiw point of algorithmic theory. I really enjoyed.
1-15/Jul: My wife and daughter had gone to my wife's home, and I had gone to abroad for two weeks, to attend two international symposiums.
28/May: Had a discussion with my friend, who is an associate professor of Kobe university. He researches on acce神戸大学の物理学科に勤めている、友人の越智先生を訪ねてきました。彼は、加速器の研究をしていて、そのあたりにアルゴリズムや最適化が役に立つことはないかな、面白い問題はないかな、と思い、ディスカッションをしました。結果、データ処理などで、いくつか面白そうな話が聞けました。
6月25日： 群馬に来たついでに、群馬大学の中野先生と、平面的なグラフもろもろを列挙するアルゴリズムの高速化について議論してきました。結果、「平面グラフの、回転による同型性のチェック」「頂点数nの木（同型名ものは同一視）」「平面に埋め込んだ、頂点数nの木（回転による同型は同一視）」という３つのアルゴリズムが改良できそうです。
6月24日： 群馬大学で開かれた、電子通信情報学会コンピューテーション研究会で発表しました。今回は、群馬大学の中野眞一先生との共同研究。"平面三角分割グラフを列挙するアルゴリズムの改良"というタイトルで、このアルゴリズムの理論的な改良法を提案しました。
5月24日： 昨日の続きで、電子通信情報学会コンピューテーション研究会に出てきました。
5月23日： 九州大学で開かれた情報処理学会情報処理学会アルゴリズム研究会に行ってきました。今年は幹事をしているので毎回出席の予定です。がんばらないと。
4月10日： 情報学研究所で初めての博士課程の入学試験がありました。季節外れということもあって、応募者は多く、いろいろな分野の方が応募されました。
3月27,28日： 富山で開かれた、日本オペレーションズ・リサーチ学会の研究発表会に行ってきました。今回は、あまり収穫はありませんでした。
3月19日：???? 東工大で助手をしているときにお世話になった白川先生がお亡くなりになられました。謹んでご冥福お祈りいたします。以前から病気のことはご存知だったとうかがっていました。死期を悟りつつも精力的にすばらしい研究をなさっていたことに、尊敬の念を覚えます。

東北大学で開かれた、東北大学大学院情報科学研究科
学術振興ワークショップ「離散システムとアルゴリズム」で発表しました。「列挙アルゴリズムの遅延時間減少法」というタイトルで、列挙アルゴリズムに対する効果的な高速化手法を提案しました。
15/Mar: Had a talk on Algorithm research group of IPSJ. the talk was entitled "Fast algorithms for computing power indices of weighted games." Proposed algorithms are n times faster than the existing algorithms, where n is the number of players.
東京大学の隣で開かれた情報処理学会情報処理学会アルゴリズム研究会で発表しました。「極小集合被覆を列挙する実用的高速アルゴリズム」というタイトルで、人工知能や最適化のほうで有名な問題に対して、実用的に高速な解法を提案しました。
1/Mar: Had a discussion with Satoru Fujishige, Kazuhisa Makino, and Satoko Mamada about dynamic flows in tree networks. The improved idea discussed at last december by I and Kazuhisa Makino had been checked, and this time, it was correct. The algorithm was speeded up.
19/Feb: マツダ自動車・アライドエンジニアリングと打合せをしました。前回発見された弱点は改良でき、結果大幅に速度の向上が図れることがわかりました。
10/Feb: 前年度 ISAAC で会った Alexander Wolff さんの研究グループに加えていただくことになりました。前年度 ISAAC でディスカッションした内容を論文誌に投稿することになりました。
2/Feb: The research マツダ自動車と進めている共同研究が日経新聞朝刊の経済面で紹介されました。扱いはそれほど大きくはないのですが、世間の目も多少は最適化アルゴリズムに向いてもらえるのかなと思いました。
15/Jan: My wife delivered a cute girl. Fortunately, I was there.

26/Dec: Now, I and Prof. Masakazu Kojima, Mazda (motor car company), and a software (Alid?) Engineering are coraborating on . 恩師である東京工業大学の小島政和先生とマツダ自動車との共同研究をしているのですが、その打合せをしてきました。前年度作ったソフトに弱点があることが判明したのですが、とりあえずの対応策と、根本的な改良案が出たので、なんとかなりそうです。
17-22/Dec: Attend ISAAC2001 held at Christchurch, Newzealand. I had a talk entitled "A Fast Algorithm for Enumerating Bipartite Perfect Matchings". It is an extended result of my research on doctral thesis. This time I had many discussions with other researchers at their presentations, so It was exciting for me.
12/Dec: 情報学研究所の相澤先生、高須先生、村田先生と web ネットワーク分析や類似語分類問題に対するアイディアの情報交換をしました。私の研究している、グラフ問題の高速解法が、多少役に立ちそうです。
4,5/Dec: Had a discussion with Kazuhisa Makino about dynamic flows in tree networks again. My idea had had an error, but this time the error was corrected.
31/Oct Had a discussion with Satoru Fujishige, Kazuhisa Makino, and Satoko Mamada about dynamic flows in tree networks. I had an idea for speeding up algorithms, but it was disproved.
Beginning/Oct Attended a workshop on quantum computing. I am not familiar to the terms and notations frequently used in this field, the talks were hard to understand details.

19-21/Sep Attended 13th RAMP (mathematical programming) Symposium of Operations Research Society Japan.
12-13/Sep Attended Annuals of Operations Research Society Japan. Listened to talks of scheduling algorithms and nurse scheduling. Had discussions with some professors and researchers, about speeding up of local searches on scheduling problems.
End/Jul Received a mail informing me the acceptance of my paper on ISAAC2001 ( International Symposium on Algorithms and Computation), which will be held at Newzealand, December.
12/Jul Attended a lecture at Masakazu Kojima Lab. The lecture was about product planning given by researchers of Hitachi electric.
End/June Attended Korea-Japan joint workshop on Algorithms and Computation. This year, conference site was Pusan, Korea.
1-2/May Attended Annuals of Operations Research Society Japan. Listened to talks of scheduling algorithms.
1/Feb Got a post of associate professor on National Institute of Informatics.
