Dear NTCIR-list members,


We are very glad to invite you to attend the fifth NTCIR Workshop
Meeting to be held on DECEMBER 6-9, 2005 at NII, Tokyo, Japan.
Please come and present your experimental results and findings,
and join the discussion!

The fifth NTCIR Workshop Meeting is a four days meeting. All
the sessions are open to public and anyone interested in
the research and evaluation of information access technologies
like IR, QA and their cross-language application are welcome
to come and join the discussion.

All the sessions are held in English.

The online registration is available from 1st October.



OPEN SUBMISSION SESSION:

On *　DECEMBER 6　*, the NTCIR-5 Workshop hosts an
"Open Submission Session". Paper submissions are
invited from anybody who is interested in
the investigation of the information access
technologies and the evaluation methodologies.
Submissions from non-NTCIR task participants are welcome.

The formal CFP will be released on September 1.

"Evaluation methodologies"　and "retrieval, question
answering and summarization of subjective statements"
such as opinion, evaluation, emotion are two focused
topics of the session but not limited to.


IMPORTANT DATES：

September 1, 2005 : Formal CFP for Open Submission Session
October 1, 2005 : Submission Due: Full papers
November 1, 2005 : Notification: Acceptance/rejection
December 6-9, 2005 : Conference

** ERRATA:
A part of the NTCIR-5 Meeting website sais that the
Open Submission Session is held on June 6-9. It is wrong.

The Correct Date is "DECEMBER 6, 2005".  The error will be
mendend tomorrow.  We are very sorry for the confusion.
