Special Issue on
Cross-Lingual Information Retrieval and Question Answering

Cross-lingual information retrieval (CLIR) and cross-lingual question
answering (CLQA) have recently gained more attentions as different ways
of cross-lingual information access for different needs. CLIR and CLQA
are much more complicated challenges compared with monolingual IR and
monolingual QA. Many practical problems are to be solved to make their
techniques more effective. For examples, they need to deal with
query/question translation, question classification, document retrieval,
and answering. In recent years, a number of techniques have been made to
improve the state of the art. The goal of this special issue is to
solicit papers showing recent advances and applications in CLIR and
CLQA. Prospective authors are invited to submit their works to this
special issue. Subjects of interest include, but are not limited to:

・瘢雹Statistical models or language models for CLIR and CLQA
・瘢雹Query/question translation
・瘢雹Unknown word translation or name entity translation
・瘢雹Question analysis/classification
・瘢雹Passage/answer extraction
