"Development of the next generation information system"

The most important problem of computer network is physical affinity between humans and computers. It is necessary to improve human interface of computers. Multimedia content and natural language processing are key features of the next generation information system. Use of natural language is not restricted to human beings. Some nonhuman primates could understand simple conversation after training. Tool use was also observed in natural groups of some species. The recent findings suggest that the most distinguished point between great apes and humans is the weight of brain. This means neural network of brain is the source of human behavior. Now, computer has faster processing units than brain has. The Internet has possibility to generate new sort of intelligence by connecting computers. If we can use natural language to retrive information from the computers, the Internet will form the world wide intelligent database for human beings.
