The NTCIR-10 Conference and the 5th International Workshop on Evaluating Information Access (EVIA 2013) will be held on June 18-21, 2013, at NII in Tokyo, Japan. Anyone who is interested in research areas related to NTCIR, such as Information Retrieval, Question Answering, Information Extraction, Text Mining and Data Engineering, Machine Translation, is welcome to attend and join the discussion.

The previous NTCIR Workshop Meeting, NTCIR-9, held in December 2011, had a total of 225 attendees from 16 different countries contributed to discussion and exchanging the experiences with one another. Among them about half were researchers participated in the "task(s) -- shared experiment task(s)" set by NTCIR, and others contributed to fruitful discussion.

At NTCIR-10 Conference, active information access (IA) researchers will get together again and share their experiences, and discuss the future plan and the roadmap for leveraging the IA research. NTCIR-10 has hosted the following six core tasks and two pilot tasks, under a new organization structure.

Core Tasks

  • CrossLink: Cross-Lingual Link Discovery
  • INTENT: Diversification of search results
  • 1CLICK: One Click Access
  • PatentMT: Translation of Patent Documents
  • RITE: Recognizing Inference in Text
  • SpokenDoc: Information Retrieval for Spoken Documents

Pilot Tasks

  • Math: Mathematical content access based on both text and formulae
  • MedNLP: Medical Natural Language Processing

DAY 1（ June 18, 2013）: The 5th International Workshop on Evaluating Information Access（EVIA 2013）

DAY 2-4（June 19-21, 2013）: The 10th NTCIR Conference

The first day of the Conference will have an Introduction to NTCIR followed by EVIA 2013（the Fifth International Workshop on Evaluating Information Access）.
The overview and system papers will be presented at the Conference on DAY 2-4（June 18-21）.
Moreover, NTCIR-10 features exciting special talks.

Registration

The full registration fee for non-students includes one copy of the proceedings (CD-ROM), one banquet(buffet dinner), three lunches, and coffees during the breaks.

If you are a student, attending workshop presentations can be free of charge, but this does not include the proceedings(CD-ROM), buffet, and lunch.
You can optionally purchase proceedings(CD-ROM) a banquet and/or lunch tickets.

If you would like a copy of the Proceedings, you need to register as "Student (with proceedings) ".
